    Eucalyptus Fiber

At our brand, we try our best in committing to ethical and sustainable practices in every aspect of our operations. That's why we source our eucalyptus fibre from FSC-certified South African farms. FSC certification ensures that forests are managed ethically and that social and economic environments are considered during the farming process, meaning that we can be sure that there is no elimination of other forms of flora due to excessive land occupation of eucalyptus plantations, and that cheap labor is not exploited.

    Sustainable Forestry Practices

The eucalyptus material we use is generated by thinned timber, a sustainable forestry practice that ensures that wood that cannot be used for high-quality products is repurposed instead of going to waste. The eucalyptus tree's rapid growth and minimal need for water and fertilizers make it an ideal choice for sustainable farming practices. Additionally, eucalyptus crops store significant amounts of carbon dioxide through their trunks, bark, and leaves, making them a carbon-negative choice.

    Closed-Loop Production Process

Our eucalyptus fibre material is produced using a non-toxic and closed-loop process that minimizes our brand's environmental impact. The process starts with the creation of wood chips, which are then ground to obtain a pulp. A solution is sprinkled on the pulp, which is then extracted. The cellulose is then regenerated through the creation of a yarn, and the final fabric is made up by aligning the fibers obtained. The closed-loop process recycles and reuses 99% of the water implied in the production, compared to materials like cotton, which uses 95% less water and diminishes our brand's carbon footprint in half.

    Merino Wool

    What is merino wool?

Merino wool is a type of wool that comes from the Merino sheep breed, originally from Spain. Merino wool is known for its softness, breathability, and warmth, as well as its moisture-wicking properties, which make it a popular material for clothing, particularly for outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing. Merino wool is also hypoallergenic, meaning it is less likely to cause skin irritation than other types of wool. It is often used in high-quality and sustainable fashion products.

What is the difference between merino wool and regular wool?

Merino wool and regular wool come from different breeds of sheep, and they have some important differences in terms of their properties and uses.

Merino wool is known for being much softer and finer than regular wool, which can be itchy and coarse. This is because Merino sheep have a thinner wool fiber with a smaller diameter than other sheep breeds. Merino wool is also more elastic, which means that it can stretch and bounce back into shape more easily. Additionally, Merino wool has natural moisture-wicking properties, which allows it to regulate body temperature and keep you dry and comfortable.

Regular wool, on the other hand, is typically coarser and thicker than Merino wool. It tends to be warmer and more durable, making it a good choice for items like blankets and outerwear. However, regular wool may be less comfortable to wear next to the skin, and it may not have the same moisture-wicking properties as Merino wool.

Overall, Merino wool is a higher-quality and more versatile type of wool that is often used in high-end fashion and outdoor gear. Regular wool is still an important and useful material, but it may not be as comfortable or as high-performing as Merino wool in some applications.

    ZQ-Certified Merino wool

At our brand, we take sustainability seriously, and that's why we use ZQ-certified merino wool in our products. ZQ certification ensures that the wool is produced according to strict standards of animal husbandry, soil management, and fauna wellbeing. This means that we can be sure that our wool is sourced ethically and sustainably, without harming the environment or animals.
